Home technology has evolved. From an initial focus on audio/video systems, it now includes LED light fixtures that emulate natural daylight, automated window shades that complement daily routines, and smart home technology that puts control of your living space at your fingertips. With this increased complexity and an abundance of options on the market, determining the best products and solutions for a project can be time consuming and frustrating.
We’ve curated a menu of solutions that are simple to use, reliable to operate, and complement the beauty of a space rather than distract from it. We work closely with each client and project team to select the best solutions for the project and determine how they will be implemented.
We describe home technology as encompassing seven different areas. For each of these "7 layers of home technology", we have curated solutions for our clients that align with our values of simplicity, reliability, and aesthetics.
We are especially known for our expertise in lighting, motorized shading, and controls technology, with additional product knowledge in those areas provided by our Wolfers Lighting, Boston Shade, and Back Bay Shutter divisions.
If you are interested in learning more about these technologies, we encourage you to contact us or set up a visit to our Experience Center in the Boston Design Center.
Lighting Controls & Dimming
The right control system simplifies the way you use your space. Plus, the control you choose is nearly as important as the fixture itself for an optimal dimming experience with LED lighting.
Lighting Fixtures
Lighting sets the mood but also provides necessary illumination for tasks and activities. We can help you to select the right light fixtures for your space as well as assist with placement.
Motorized Shading
Tied into a control system, automated window treatments offer function and beauty. The solutions we offer are quiet and easy to operate, with a wide selection of fabrics to choose from.
Audio / Video
We provide distributed audio and video systems that complement the architecture of your space without sacrificing sound and image quality.
Networking
A robust network is the backbone of any smart home system. We design leading-edge systems that use commercial-grade wireless networks for stable, reliable connectivity.
Access Control
Access control systems provide peace of mind and streamline how you can greet guests, take deliveries, or coordinate with the providers of important home services. Reliability and ease of use is key.
Specialty Systems
Whether it is voice control, a home wellness system, or a golf simulator, we ensure specialty systems coordinate or integrate with the other technology in your space.
Our team offers a full range of services. We can assist with technology design only or product selection only, or you can choose to work with us on a comprehensive package where we design the system, provide the product, and provide installation and support.
Technology Design & Consulting
Much like you would engage an architect, our technology designers can assist with creating a technology design and plan how technology will be implemented in the home. We help our clients to determine a scope and budget, engineer the design, and draft construction drawings.
Our design services are not limited by geography. We design technology systems for projects across the country from Hawaii to Maine.
Product Selection
For those clients who are looking for product only or who do not require comprehensive design services, our product specialists in our Wolfers Lighting, Boston Shade, and Back Bay Shutter divisions assist with product selection.
They take on projects of various size, from specifying a single custom window shade to assisting with the selection of new decorative light fixtures for an entire home.
Installation & Support
In New England, we offer installation and support for the technology systems we design. If installation is requested, we assign a project manager once the design moves into the construction drawing phase.
Our team implements the system throughout the construction process, and our client services team continues to provide support after move in day.
