Wellesley House
Wellesley, MA
This modern new construction residence in Wellesley may be unassuming from the outside, but it bursts with color and personality inside. The key design challenge in this project was presented by the large plate glass windows dotting the exterior of the home.
In several places, these windows met to create a corner that was entirely glass. The shading for these windows needed to meet the clients' functional requirements as well as maintain the clean architectural lines of the design.
Our design incorporated two layers of motorized shading for light control and for screening, with the tightest tolerances and most difficult corner conditions to maintain the aesthetics. In places where a motorized drapery track was used, extra attention to detail was required in terms of the direction that the motors would draw the drapes as well as where the curtains would stack when open.
An image of the finished dining space is shown below. The motorized screening is completely hidden when not in use, and the drape stack back leaves the view as unobstructed as possible.
